Surabaya (30/08) – The national property developer, PT Intiland Development Tbk (Intiland;DILD) has successfully completed the construction of Praxis superblock’s main structure. The company officiated the completion of the construction work of this mixed use & high-rise development project with the topping off ceremony attended by the management. The ceremony was held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Surabaya.
Intiland’s vice president director and chief operating officer, Sinarto Dharmawan explained that the topping off ceremony marked an important stage in the project’s development process. The company is now preparing to start the next phase of the development, which is the completion of the architectural work that includes the development of the facade and the interior.
Sinarto said that in response to the rapid growth the city of Surabaya is experiencing, there needs to be a solution in the form of an integrated property product, which can accommodate diverse activities to be conducted efficiently in one area. The superblock development concept provides an answer to the public high demand, changes in urban lifestyle, and the limited lands available for property development.
“Mixed-use development is the right concept to apply in big cities because it’s proven to have led to efficiency. Praxis is an integrated mixed-use property product that caters to various needs: residential, business, commercial, and entertainment–all in one development area,” Sinarto said after the topping off ceremony.
Occupying a 1.1-hectare area in the heart of Surabaya’s business hub, Praxis serves various functions and comprises apartment tower, hotel, offices, and retail & commercial area. Praxis enjoys a strategic location adjacent to Intiland Tower Surabaya, a building with an iconic design, which is also of the company’s flagship office buildings.
As a residence, Praxis has an apartment tower of 28 floors consisting of 289 units. The apartment units come in four types, from one-bedroom to three-bedroom with a floor area ranging from 44 sqm to 175 sqm.
Praxis also features 185 office units, comprising strata title and lease units. Another development is a 19-story hotel, multifunction room, gymnasium, and retail area with a total area reaching 102,498 sqm.
With the topping off, Sinarto explained that the construction was 65 percent complete. The project is scheduled to complete in the second semester of 2018, followed by the handover to the owners.
From the marketing aspect, Praxis has received positive response from Surabaya’s people. Since the project was introduced and marketed in the second quarter of 2013, the company has sold 75 percent of the total units of apartments. The company has also sold 65 percent of the total 2 stories strata title offices.
Praxis is also to present Mercure Praxis Hotel. The 288-room hotel is a member of the four-star hotel chain developed by the international chain hotel management, Accor Group.
The company is optimistic that the development of Praxis will provide an added value to Surabaya’s people.
